7) Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives. List and briefly describe the Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives undertaken during the period covered by this Report.
a. Intern Program: In partnership with the University of Georgia, the employment unit conducted an internship program for one student enrolled in the University’s communications and criminal justice program. An opportunity was provided for the student to apply classroom training through hands experience working at the employment unitthus assisting them in developing the skills needed for broadcast employment. The intern was supervised by the station Program Director.
b. Job Fairs:
i. On July 1, 2011 the employment unit’s Sales Manager and Program Director each of whom have substantial responsibility in employment decisions, participated with the Georgia Department of Labor annual Job Fair at the University of Phoenix showcasing opportunities available in the broadcast field and at the employment unit. We displayed information about our company from 9a until 2pm.
ii. On October 23, 2011 the employment unit’s Marketing Manager and Program Director each of whom have substantial responsibility in employment decisions, participated with Annual Gospel Fest & Job Fair at the East Columbus Life Center showcasing opportunities available in the broadcast field and at the employment unit. We displayed information about our company from 3p until 6pm.
