7) Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives. List and briefly describe the Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives undertaken during the period covered by this Report.
a. Intern Program: In partnership with Columbus State University, the employment unit conducted an internship program for two students enrolled in the University’s communications and criminal justice program. An opportunity was provided for the students to apply their classroom training through hands experience working at the employment unit thus assisting them in developing the skills needed for broadcast employment. The interns were supervised by the station Program Director.
b. Intern Program: In partnership with Columbus Technical, the employment unit conducted an internship program for one student enrolled in the college’s business program. An opportunity was provided for the students to apply their classroom training through hands experience working at the employment unit thus assisting them in developing the skills needed for broadcast employment. The interns were supervised by the station Program Director.
c. Job Fairs:
i. On May 14, 2009 the employment unit’s Sales Manager and Program Director each of whom have substantial responsibility in employment decisions, participated with the Georgia Department of Labor annual Job Fair at the Officer’s Club located on Fort Benning showcasing opportunities available in the broadcast field and at the employment unit. We displayed information about our company from 9a until 2pm.
ii. On July 16, 2009 the employment unit’s Sales Manager and Program Director each of whom have substantial responsibility in employment decisions, participated with the Georgia Department of Labor annual Job Fair at the University of Phoenix showcasing opportunities available in the broadcast field and at the employment unit. We displayed information about our company from 9a until 2pm.
iii. On October 24, 2009 the employment unit’s Marketing Manager and Program Director each of whom have substantial responsibility in employment decisions, participated with Annual Gospel Fest & Job Fair at the East Columbus Life Center showcasing opportunities available in the broadcast field and at the employment unit. We displayed information about our company from 3:30p until 7pm.
iv. On November 5, 2009 the employment unit’s Sales Manager and Program Director each of whom have substantial responsibility in employment decisions, participated with the Georgia Department of Labor annual FCC Classic Career Expo & Job Fair at the Columbus Trade Center Exhibit Hall showcasing opportunities available in the broadcast field and at the employment unit. We displayed information about our company from 9a until 2pm.
